My special place
Since I was a child, my family and I used to travel a lot. Every time we had the chance, we went to a park, a waterfall or anywhere else.
I haven't gone abroad yet, but I have traveled to almost all parts of my country. However, of all the places we have gone to, my favourite is the highlands of Ecuador.
A little context if you care to read. I am from the Highlands of Ecuador. Especifically from the capital: Quito.
I grew in Sangolquí (a suburb of Quito and the seat of Rumiñahui canton in the province of Pichincha, in northern Ecuador).
When I was 9 years old. I had to move to the Coast of Ecuador due to my dad's work. I left my home on September of the 2019. I was really hard for me to adapt to the Coast. Mostly because of the hot weather, mosquitoes and friends.
In spite of the fact that all of my family if from the Coast of Ecuador, I didn't felt that familiarity one ought to have with their genealogy. Also, I lost all my friends from there. I couldn't keep in touch because I didn't have a phone and I still do not have one my own. So I felt alone. In addition I was about to enter puberty which made things worse.
Since then, I spend years missing my old life. The one I had in the Highlands.
That is one reason why I love it so much. It reminds me of the good time I had when I lived there.
Another reason of which why I like it so much is because, basically everything is better over there. The education is better, the people are respectful and unlike here, they always greet you. Even if you are just walking over a complete stranger. The wheather is cold. I love that. There are rivers, waterfalls, forests where you can visit and have a great time.
My favourite fruit, the raspberry, grows just there and there is a raspberry cheesecake which is one of the best dessert in the world (in my opinion). All of this, among other thing make me realise that my special place is in the Highlands.
